Does Vinli have an Activation Guide?
1. Create Your Vinli Account
First, download the My Vinli app for Android or iOS to register your new Vinli device. Follow the directions to create a new account, or sign into your existing one.
2. Register Vinli
In the My Vinli app, enter the 7-digit code located on the back of the device.
3. Plug the Device into Your Car’s OBD-II Port
Locate your car’s OBD-II port, usually found under the steering wheel, and plug your Vinli device in. For help finding your port, visit vinli.com/compatibility.
4. Confirm the Connection
Turn on your car and select the Dashboard on the My Vinli app. If the icons along the top are lit up, congratulations! Your Vinli adventure has begun!
Can I switch my devices between cars?
You can move your device from one car to another without losing vehicle data from your account. Simply plug in your Vinli device into the new vehicle’s OBD-II port, and the device will automatically detect the change. If you need help locating the new vehicle’s OBD-II port, visit www.vinli.com/compatibility.
Can I switch my device to another account?
Yes, switching a device to another account is possible.
First, you need to delete the device from your current account before it can be associated with a new one.
In the My Vinli app, select “My Devices” and select the desired device.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap “Delete Device” to remove your device. Review the warning message and confirm the action.
In the new account, select “My Devices” and tap the + sign at the top of the screen.
Enter the Case ID and assign a Device Name to complete the setup of your Vinli device.
How many devices can I have on my account?
You can have up to 10 Vinli devices associated with one My Vinli account.
How do I deactivate my device?
You can simply deactivate your device by following these steps:
First, go to the My Vinli mobile app. Tap the Menu, then My Devices. Tap the device you wish to deactivate. Scroll to the bottom of your screen and tap Delete Device.
If you are a T-Mobile account holder, you will be promoted to cancel your service with T-Mobile. You will see a notification to Continue. Enter your 4-digit PIN and tap continue. Then confirm you want to cancel your service.
Please note, once your device has been deleted, your historical vehicle data cannot be recovered.
How do I change my password?
On a web browser:
Visit the my.vin.li login website and locate the “Forgot Password?” link at the bottom of the page.
Click on the link and proceed to enter your email address. You will then receive an email in your inbox that provides you with additional instructions on how to update your password.
On the My Vinli app:
Locate the menu option in the bottom left corner.
Find your profile name, and select “Password” at the top to update or change your password.
Press “Reset” to confirm the changes.
